1981 Yamaha YZ465H

The YZ465 was and still is a very popular race bike of choice since its introduction. I had raced one of these and a 250H at the DeAnza GP's located north of the old Riverside Raceway. They were both heavily play ridden in the Hi Deserts of SoCal with great satisfaction too. The 'H' chassis was really good in the motor department though the monoshock wishbone swingarm tended to hop around. Shock technology wasn't very desirable back then but the bike made good strides in single shock development in offroading across the dirt bike world.

This machine came from NorCal sitting in a garage as you see here for 10 years. Everything was there in original form though the plastics were toast and it had a frozen top-end. The bike was a fun and easy build, one of the earliest machines done in my shop under the Old S'CooL banner. She turned out really nice and ran like a champ. It didn't hang around very long ending up in the Northeast.
